Review of Mac Fix Plus and Mac Strobe Cream
Mac Fix Plus and Mac Strobe Cream are the perfect combination for long lasting, dewy looking skin. I usually always go for matte primers like Benefit's Porefessional. As most of us combination skin girls and guys will know we're told by makeup artists that we need a matte finish to our makeup so we don't look oily. I like the way dewy skin looks, so I wanted to try it out.
Mac Fix + 100ml retails for €20 (Brown Thomas) and $22 (www.maccosmetics.com). Mac Strobe Cream 30ml retails for €10 (Brown Thomas) and $10 (www.maccosmetics.com). Benefit Porefessional 22ml is €34 (Brown Thomas) and $31 (www.benefitcosmetics.com).
I start my face makeup by spritzing three sprays of Fix +. Then I mix my foundation with the Strobe Cream and apply with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. When I'm done applying contour, blush and highlight I spritz 3 more sprays of fix + evenly over my face, going from left to right.
The current foundation I'm using is Revlon Colour Stay in 180 sand beige, in the oily to combination skin formula. I also use 150 buff under my eyes, on my cupids bow, on the bridge of my nose and a tiny bit on the centre of my forehead to highlight and enhance those areas by using light to bring those areas forward. This makes the face look not as one dimensional and more realistic.
The Mac Strobe Cream is a very creamy consistency with a luminous glow and natural sheen. It has iridescent particles and antioxidants. I find a little goes a long way. I find it very moisturising for the skin so it would be great for people with dry skin as well as combination skin girls and guys.
The Mac Fix + is a lightweight hydrating mist. It refreshes the skin and finishes make up. As well as being a setting spray you could also use this to pick up loose pigment eyeshadows by spraying your eyeshadow brush with the solution.

I have the strobe cream by Mac but I've never mixed it together with my foundation I have just used it as a sort of primer base, does mixing it with your foundation make a difference? xx
ReplyDeleteIt made a big difference for me because I started using it as a base/primer and I didn't really like it. I then tried mixing it in with my foundation, it made my foundation (which is quite matte) very dewy and easier to work with while keeping the coverage of my foundation. I really like it since then xx
